headspace gauge

I am new to this forum and reloading. I am glad this site is here, I have allot of questions.
I need some help selecting the Stoney Point headspace bushing. These bushings are available in 5 different sizes, and are lettered from A to E. I have found that defferant suppliers claim I need differant bushings I have narrowed it down to B and E. Can anyone tell me wich bushing to buy. I am loading a 300 ultra mag.
Thanks for such a great site, and thanks to everybody involved.

Now, this is only my opinion, but forget the fancy gadgets for
now and let the chamber be your gauge.
After sizing your brass, insert it into the chamber, and while
holding the trigger in, push the bolt forward and down to the
neutral point. From there, if the bolt drops on it's own then
there is too much head space. If you must push it down with
a lot of force then then not enough head space.
Make sure you ckeck your OAL. before doing this becouse if the
brass is too long it will fool you.
Personaly I like my bolt to drop with slight finger tip presure.
Remember, you want to marry the cartridge to the chamber and that is best done with out the middle-man,third party tools)
when ever possible. Of course you know what they say about opinions.

Just to make things more clear I was in deed talking about
measuring for setting up my bump die.
I just happen to prefer the feel over the caliper reading.

A headspace comparator is useful in giving you a number you can write down, say, with your fired "sticky" brass) and then another number for brass that has been bumped. This can help you get just the right amount of bump and confirm that with each case.

Here is the Stoney Pt. Gauge mounted on a set of calipers:

Gunamonth--note I did find three websites where they listed a "B" .350 bushing for a 300 Ultra Mag. But I think that's probably incorrect. Unfortunately I couldn't find definitive info on the Stoney Point site.

EXAMPLE:
Stoney Point B .350" • 22 PPC, 22/250 Rem, 6 PPC, 6 BR Rem, 250 SAV, 7 BR Rem, 300 Ultra Mag,UPC: 787945042530 )

Thanks for all the quick replies and ideas. I will go ahead and buy a E and a B head space guage. Do you think that once I have both of them, it will be obvious which one is the correct one for the 300 ultra mag? I don't mind buying both of them because I will be reloading for a 6br eventually. Thanks again
