Headspace and boltface truing

I gave up. Undercut the damn thing. Im gonna make a barrel nut for this thing today.

Are you saying you are gonna make a howage nut similar to the remmage?You should make more and sell them as there are alot of people that would would like one as taking off those barrels is as bad as a german mauser.They stretched their threads.They come off with a loud crack like something broke.

Yeah I just made a nut that mocked the savage so I could use the same wrench. Worked out good. I set the " headspace" up with about .001 clearance on FL sized brass. I trued the action, bolt, threads and barrel. Shot it today and its perfect. My full loads primers look great now. The good thing is with virgin brass it should stay pretty accurate. The datum difference between the ones I shot today and the ones I shot when the rifle was new is .0115 shorter. They only grew a thou from full sized. Thanks for all the help on this one!!
