Heads up, Change in 2014 Savage bolts

The 2014 Savage Centerfire bolts with cocking indicators have different internals than their predecessors. The Main Screw (different) is hollow and the new cocking pieces (also different) are long enough to stick out through the Main screw. If you are going to use a bolt lift kit you will have to replace the new cocking pieces with an old style cocking piece and maybe the old style Main Screw.. The Lift kits sold by PT&G include a new main screw.

Thanks for the heads up. I have not seen anything like this on the shelves yet. So the bolt body, head, baffle and handle are the only thing that is the same? Matt

Both my bottom bolt release Savage's that are a 2012 and 2013 model are like that. An flcpk 10 and predator hunter 10

Nate,

Are these the same ones used on the models with the bottom bolt release? If so, this isn't a 2014 change, but has been around for a few years now - and not on all models, just some.
