Final Tally for the trip:
Fired:
20 VT 546
223. 379
222 71
Total. 996
773 Hits = 74.6%
Summary:
Fired the go-to VT the most and the 223 next trying to use up old bullets and powder. I really prefer the 222 to the 223 but the 223 did surprisingly well using old std 55 Rem PSPs out of an OEM barrel.
I tried some Speer 39g TNTs in the VT for the first time. Despite their lower BC I never felt I was handicapped out to about 250 yards for wind drift...and they seem to hit just as hard and explosive as 40 VMs.
Fall doggin' is considerably slower than June when the pups are emerging. I was probably a little early for the voracious eating days when they are out in force sensing oncoming winter.
Still another great trip with good friends.
Until we do it again.....
