head space help

I just re-barreled my savage 10 .308. used a fosters go gauge. tested my reloads and 8 out of ten go in great and smooth. 1 locks in a little tight, and one wont close. do i re gauge it with a piece of tape on the back? or leave it, and it might be my case? any info would be great. thanks

I'll assume it's your brass, but you can tape your go gauge up and see what that will do, if you don't have a no go gauge.. .003-.004 give or take on most tape, and that should not close on your go gauge.

If the go gage fits and the the brass doesn't, that pretty well narrows it down IMO. Of course you could have a go gage that's out of spec, but I've never seen it. Likely just need to bump the shoulder a bit more. Sounds like some of your brass is springing back more than the rest.
