Actually, 22 Mag is quite lethal. My cousin married a Coeur d'Alene Indian, and learned they favor taking elk with a 22 Mag behind the ear, from close range. He also learned about a tribal custom soon after marriage, when a freshly killed cow elk was deposited on his front lawn just before midnight, and the likely lads cheerfully showed him how to dress it out and fill a freezer.
