The farmers has got the crops out down in the river bottoms where i like to shoot at distance so me and my son load up and go down there and set up.. he takes a 6.5 creedmoor with a mpa built barreld action in a manners stock.. i take a 6.5 creedmoor , 6.5 prc and my latest savage build in 280 ai.. we set up targets at 410 yards 775 yards and 1145 yards.. beautiful day out in the low 50's with a left to right wind up to 8 mph..i had good hits at 410 and 775 with my prc but struggled at 1145.. wind was more than i though.. my boy sits down and struggles at 410 but got him on at 775 then he made first round hit at 1175 and hit several more times.. i then shoot my creedmoor and it does good at all distances with first 4 shots at 1145 hitting.. i then get my 280 ai out and wasnt expecting alot from it because i just hadn't thought it shot that well since i built it.. but it shocked me.. my first shot i center puched a 8 inch plate at 410.. then went to 775 and shot a 3 hot group that is pictured here.. then i went for 1145 and my first 3 hit.. but low on the plate.. i gave it some up and hit my next 3 as well.. both groups looked small through th scope but i couldnt believe how good they were when i got down there and seen them.. great day of shooting with my boy.. we had a good time as always enjoying a sport we love.. the first pic my boy took with his phone looking through the spotting scope.. first target you see is 775 and the other 1145..
