Having a Resizing Die made

The costs are materials, labor and non recurring expenses. Engineering is part of the non recurring cost just like tooling.
The materials are raw materials and the labor is just that - the actual direct touch labor involved in manufacturing the product. When you weigh an ordinary old Porsche you will find that the amount of raw materials consumed to make one is about the same as the raw materials used to make the limited production item. You also know that it does not take an extra $200,000 to build the more powerful engine and better chassis. When you break down the cost in that manner you will find that the consumer is getting hosed for the distinction of owning a limited production car. The primary reason for the high price is just limited production quantities to spread the non recurring costs over.
I test drove a Mercedes with a set of optional AMG wheels. The cost of that little option was $9600 over the cost of the standard wheels. There is no way that those wheels cost an extra $2400 EACH to produce compared to the stock wheels.
The marketing people want you to believe that but a sanity check says it is not true.

Engineering is only part of the cost.

WarnerTool is the crown royal. I have one in PPC, but it will not fit you conventional press and they are $598. None can touch the quality of them.

It will fit any press that has a 7/8-14 insert in a 1 1/4-12 threaded hole in the press body....just remove the 7/8-14 insert. Mine gives me 0.0005" variation in case length at 0.400" datum on two cartridges I load for and under 0.001" neck runout of empty case and loaded ammo runout of 0.0015" or less at the forward end of bearing surface. This is without using a mandrel after sizing. They are expensive and takes a while for inserts to be machined but the tolerances are very exacting. Is it worth it??? That must be decided by the individual....for me the answer is yes.

Edit- Using Redding Big Boss press

Depends on what caliber too. Too small/short and the "bushing die" can't be done. Tried that with Redding.:( Whidden was all over it but without the bushing.;)

I have read multiple times on this forum that people will spec a reamer according to a factory Redding dies dimensions. How do you know the exact measurements of the die? Redding doesn't give out that information. I tried.

CH4D got back to me. They will make a die set, but it has a 1 year wait time. Holy cow, business must be good. Guess I'll need to shop around.

Need a bushing type, full length resizing die made. Have reached out to CH4D. Are there any others that make them. RCBS is out of the special order die making business. Thanks in advance for any help.

Sent reamer print to Whidden for a type s FL bushing die and microseater for a wildcat cartridge...perfect, so I did it two more times...perfect times three!
