Have Question about New 22-250 Reamer

I've read through the the reamer questions until my eyes hurt so I'll just ask.
I've shot the barrel out of my 22-250 Rem. I almost can't reach the lands and it's gone from shooting in the 1's and 2's to one inch at 100 yards.

I want to buy a new reamer for a new barrel job that I'll have someone else do. While looking at reamers I see custom reamers, SAAMI, coated, etc. I just want the rifle to shoot like it did. I reload but I don't want to turn necks.

This rifle had a short (very short throat) new. Should I get a zero throat and let the gunsmith set the free bore? Go with the SAAMI and hope for the best? Coated or non coated?

I know I'm asking a lot so, I guess the thing to ask is, if you were building a 22-250 Rem (non Ackley), what reamer would you buy?

BTW, I use shoulder bump dies and I have no problem getting 10 loading's or more from my brass as long I anneal the necks.

I think you should let your gunsmith use his reamer so you dont have to worry about it. Then send whidden some fired cases and get some fl bushing dies made with the money you save

Do NOT over think this! Have your 'smith use his SAAMI spec reamer. If you're replacing a 'factory' barrel with a quality made custom barrel, custom chambered by a gunsmith that actually knows how, you will be well satisfied. Custom dies , like Dusty suggested, isn't a bad idea either.

SAMMI spec does not mean less accurate than a custom spec reamer. In fact more guys mess things up by ordering a custom reamer and changing specs when they really don't know what they are doing.

Put your faith in your smith and let him do his job. If you want something different, tell him and let him adjust the way he sees fit.
