Hats Off to GrocMax and those who donate part of Sales Proceeds

I want to say "thanks" to Forum Member GrocMax (Scott E.) who recently donated 5% of his Forum Classifieds sale proceeds back to the site. This returned $26.25 to the site, helping us pay the bills. GrocMax is not the first to do this -- other guys have done so before, and they deserve credit too.

If guys who make significant sales via the Classifieds kicked back a small percentage, we could increase site revenues significantly. That could help us with a very important objective -- hiring another full-time writer/tester/editor. Right now 90+% of the work is done by one person (me), with vital help from JayChris our IT guy, and from the Answerman, who responds to reader questions.

What's in it for you? Consider how much more content the site could deliver if we were able to hire a second full-time staffer. You'd see more tests, more articles, more photos, more videos...



I also want to thank those guys who have donated just because they want to give back to the site. Those generous souls help keep our operations going. As we have beefed up our server capabilities to handle increased site traffic (Over 140,000 users visited the site last week), user donations have been increasingly important in defraying site costs.

Maybe we need a donation "button" for the classifieds section so as to attract attention to this option and make it simple. Convenience is the key..... IMHO. We need more good articles. Just a thought. ;D

Can you break it down for us Paul and maybe we could do a funds drive to "Pay for the new employee" and make it happen. How many donations of how much money would it take? I just donated but I would do it again to help pay for the new employee.

+1 for me, I'll help ya Robert and I'll make another donation also, heck with precision magazine gone I have no magazine's to pay for like in the old days so it wouldn't hurt me to donate a little more and a little more often.

The classifieds here are VERY effective, for both buyer and seller.
Almost too effective, if you want something you better get on the ball and read them every AM.

Very high signal to noise ratio, buyers know what they want, sellers know what they have, no mickey mouse.

This is pretty rare, for a seller its a financial asset, and a small 'tax' for me to put money in my pocket with minimal fuss is well worth it.
