Has anyone ever converted a Bonanza/Forster seating die to 30 BR?

I've got a couple of extra 308 seating dies and had thought about shortening the chamber sleeve to seat 30BR.

Looks like it won't work because of the case taper and shoulder diameter differences.

Would it be worthwhile to buy a 6 or 7 BR chamber sleeve and ream out the neck area? Seems like a pretty easy project.

Seems like a fun project. Will the seater stem reach down far enough? I believe the sleeves are quite soft for machining. Go for it!

That's a good question.
I'll have to check after I get back to the house.
If shortening doesn't work, I'm hoping simply reaming the neck of the 6/7BR sleeve should do the job.
They seem to be cheap enough that it's worth trying.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking.
3-5 minutes total including getting the correct bit or reamer. Deburr the edge of the shoulder/neck, and it's done.

Give Forster a call, I talked to an older guy there and he was a great help when I was converting a .204 micro seater for a 6x204 project I did. I wish I could remember his name but he was well know by others, he was from the shop.
