Has anybody tried these primers?

I like this --
"and its standard U.S. size means you can use it in any weather." :D

That's about half the price of anything else out there right now, and it doesn't look like that's gonna change anytime soon. If I was a guy who did a lot of steel banging, I'd go for it.

It would be nice though to hear from at least one person with first hand knowledge. jd

I have not used them myself but I have been following the price development of these at Astra Sports as I was in the market for small pistol primers. They were $224 in July so a 15% drop in price in the last 4 months.

$234 shipped to TX including tax and hazmat is not a bad deal, under 4.7 cents per primer delivered

I'd be holding off on anything in the shooting realm unless I absolutely needed it. I've been watching prices drop on some live ammo in my email ads, and I bet it's only going to get better in light of the election results.

I am a member at a prepper form and there is a member that sells medical supplies at gun shows all over the nation. His latest stop was at the gun show in Cedar Rapids, he said that ammo and components were cheaper than he had seen in the last 4 years. 5.56 62 grain was $11 a box of 20. Do I think this means prices will be coming down? I cannot predict the future anymore than the rest of us here at AS, but it is a good sign, maybe. I will remain cautiously optimistic, till proven other wise. I hope you are right MarkM87. I could use some $29.00 rifle primers large and small. Maybe even a few SPP.

It is probably just me, but I could care less how a primer, I buy and want, is packaged, as long as they do the job intended with good results I remove them from the box, etc they are in and put them into my loading trays or tubes, so it really does not matter after that anyway.

They work for me! I purchased about 4k of them so far all have gone bang out of my 43x and my KP9, IMO there just like any other primer, now my brother says out of his TAURUS G2 some of them had to be double tapped, to go bang!

An action shooting buddy of mine said he tried them and wasn't impressed. Not sure what his complaint was; I don't believe (from memory) that it had anything to do with ignition. And I can't see it being from accuracy, as that probably wouldn't show up in most action pistol shooting. They've been out for a while, and despite the significantly cheaper price, haven't generated many reports on use.

The SyA SP primers are good-to-go, in my book. Use them to load 9mm, .38 Special, and .357 Mag. The primer cup might be a tad harder than CCI, Fed, and Win. Depending on the brass used, they may be a little harder to seat. Also, had to put a fresh striker spring in my well-used Glock 26 as I had a small number of FTFs - problem solved! No issues whatsoever with hammer fired revolvers or leverguns. Hope this helps.

Prices are dropping but I've also watched who has gouged us deep too
I like to give credit where due, and you know who HASN'T gouged us -- BiMart. They haven't always had everything in stock, but when they do, the price is reasonable. I'll bang the drum for them every chance I get. jd

Never heard of it
Must be regional. We're Pacific Northwest. It's an employee owned membership chain. Kind of a smaller, friendlier alternative to WalMart.
Very good for discount ammo, pretty good selection of powder, bullets, primers, and basic tools. jd

Does look like they have good prices on primers. Just a wee bit of a drive for me though. If I am in the area someday, I will definitely shop there.
