Harts R.A.D. 2 a system

I was wanting a Limbsaver Airtech precision butt pad like Winning in the Wind uses on his open f class rifles with the Hart RAD 2a system i asked Keith but he didn't remember which model he was using on his rifles any help is greatly appreciated!
Thankyou

The 2a has the adjustable lop system which is really easy to use. You’ll need to chang the spring to a lighter one or ask them for one. When you find the right spring and dampening rate they are magic!

Be advised that the 2a has a limit on how much can be sanded off to fit the rifle butt. This is due to the two set screws that lock the butt pad assembly. Along with that, some recoil pads can NOT be sanded. Have installed two, this one on a smokeless muzzleloader. With the brake and r.a.d, can shoot it with a tee shirt.
Without them, it kills on one end and maims on the other.

I hope I'm not telling you something you already know, and that I'm addressing the question OP asked.

If you have never purchased a RAD 2a before, the pictures commonly shown (like the diagram in the post above) can be somewhat misleading. The RAD 2a is delivered with rectangular plates (they are not shaped as shown in the diagram above). This is to permit the gunsmith to shape the bottom plate to match the profile of the stock, and the outer plate to be shaped to whatever butt pad you choose. So, you can select whichever Limbsaver pad shape you prefer and then shape the RAD 2a plate to match. You can also select one of the grind-to-fit limbsaver models and shape it (and the RAD 2a plate) to whatever shape you want.

The combination of a Limbsaver pad and an appropriately light sprung RAD 2a will make your rifle "hit" you like a marshmallow! Again, I hope I was addressing OPs question...

This certainly confused me when mine arrived. I got good and grinding and polishing with a mounted wheel sander really quick.

The pic shows the Limbsaver I use, it works well. Installing a lighter spring has the biggest effect on comfort.
