Twenty-two shooters braved the heat, rain, wind, and mirage today, June 29th, at Harry Jones 1000 Yard Rifle Range in Fairview, WV for matches four and five of our 1000 Yard shooting series. In Match Four, tweleve shooters shot in the heavy gun class, with Scott Frock shooting the highest aggregate score of 195 and Will Watkins Jr shooting the lowest aggregate group of 7.138 inches. Watkins also shot the highest individual score for a heavy gun target with 100 points. Mike Gaisauskas shot the smallest heavy gun group at 5.173 inches. Overall, Will Watkins Jr won the heavy gun class. Fifteen shooters shot in the light gun class, with Mike Gaisauskas shooting the highest aggregate score with 97 points and Steve Firl shooting the lowest aggregate group of 3.976 inches. Firl also shot the highest individual score and smallest individual group, 50 points with 3xs and 2.725 inches respectively. Overall, Mike Gaisauskus won the light gun class. Although only three tactical class shooters shot today, Dave Yoho sweeped the tactical class, scoring the highest aggregate score and group, 97 points and 5.272 inches respectively). Yoho also shot the highest individual score ( with 50 points with 4 xs and the lowest individual group at 3.412 inches. Yoho won tactical class overall. Only two shooters shot in the factory class, with Marty Williams scoring the highest aggregate score (97) and the smallest aggregate group (7.155 inches). Eleven shooters shot in the two gun overall, Mike Gaisauskas shot the lowest two target aggregate group at 5.972 inches, Scott Frock shot the highest two target aggregate score with 291 points, and Mike Gaisauskas won the two gun overall.
In Match Five, twelve shooters shot in the heavy gun class, with Dave Tripodi shooting the highest two target aggregate score of 193, Jack Gauntz shooting the lowest two target aggregate group at 6.901 inches, Scott Frock shooting the highest individual score of 99, Robert McMichael shooting the lowest individual score at 5.836 inches, and Jack Gauntz winning heavy gun overall. Fifteen shooters shot in the light gun class, with Garrett Watkins shooting the highest aggregate score with 97 and the lowest aggregate group at 3.699 inches. Dave Tripodi shot the highest individual light gun score and the lowest individual group with 49 and 3.176 inches respectively. Overall, Garrett Watkins won the light gun class. Three shooters shot in the tactical gun class, with Marty Williams shooting the highest aggregate score of 89, James Jordan Jr shooting the lowest aggregate score at 4.593 inches, Dave Yoho shooting the highest individual score with 47 points and James Jordan Jr shooting the lowest individual group at 4.295 inches. Overall, James Jordan Jr won the tacticcal gun class. Two shooters shot in the factory gun class, with Marty Williams shooting the highest aggregate score of 85, Ryan Sooy shooting the lowest aggregate group at 11.618 inches, Marty Williams shooting the highest individual score of 44 and the lowest individual group of 10.69 inches. Overall, Ryan Sooy won the factory gun class. Eleven shooters shot in the two gun overall, with Dave Tripodi winning and shooting the highest aggregate score of 290 and the lowest aggregate score of 6.128 inches.
