Harris Bipod, which one?

I am going to have to buy a bipod for some of the competition that I shoot in and I am wondering which Harris bipod you shoot and or suggest. I will be using it off of the bench mostly with some F Class TR thrown in for good measure. I am looking at the 9"-13" smooth leg with swivel. Tell me if I am going wrong or if I am going the right way. Maybe you can give some pros and cons also.

The reason that I am looking at the smooth legged one is for the infinite adjustability. The notched one is from what I have heard sometimes a headache. Like I said, I dont know, thats why I am looking to you guys (and girls) for help.

Thanks, BK.

I can only recommend a Harris 6-9 Swivel with Notched Legs, add a KMW Pod-Lok and your GTG, I have shot that set up in F-TR, Sniper Matches, on the bench, off the bench, you name it and it flat out works.

I prefer the smooth legged version, BUT not with the swivel style. It just boils down to personal preferrence

Well I guess I made a mistake when I ordered the 9-13 incher. Like I said, I guess I can try it and just make a deal for someone... or see if someone may need a taller one and trade them. Oh well, you live and learn I guess. Thanks to you all for the great input by the way. I had to have one for this weekend and ordered it yesterday. I already have spacers for the rear bag so I think I can get by this weekend, but from what you guys say I will be looking for the shorter one. I almost ordered that one too! I was thinking about keeping the rifle lower to the bench/ground would make for a more stable platform but I talked myself into the taller one.

Thanks again, BK.

You will probably be able to make the 9-13 work for you, but I think you are spot on with it being more stable as you get lower to the ground. This matters even more if if keeps you from stacking stuff under your rear bag.

Also,
If you don't have a scope level yet, get one. It is pretty easy to be tilted 1 degree and not notice it. I like this one http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct/default.aspx?productNumber=846101, but there are lots that work.

I already have a couple of different levels and I thought the same thing that you did ryanjay11. On my F Class Open rig I put on a level and my scores increased. People dont think about how it matters not to cant the rifle. But thanks for the suggestion and all the replies, BK.
