Harrels or Hood ?

R.Morehouse

I am at the threshold of getting my 1st 6PPC and looking forward to all the dynamics that come along with learning short range BR. Like the title says I would like some opinions on these 2 presses to help me with my decision and perhaps any tips to be shared with this 57yr old newby to this new adventure......Thanks

Regards
Rick

Basically Chevy (Harrels) vs. Cadillac (Hood -Crawford). I never used a Harrels, but the Hood is built to tighter tolerances, and well thought out - it even dispenses fired primers through the ram into a removable container, and has the option of adding a JLC ratchet die adjuster > a big plus for ultra-precision.

Had a Harrel & sold it off to another enquiring mind. I came to the conclusion that the design was not up the performance of a simple arbour press to neck size & seat. Never did get to use the threaded side.
