I’m sure this has been asked, but I could not find a thread, so I’ll ask.
I sent Harrell’s 3 fired pieces of brass that came with the 6ppc I just bought. Got that die in less than a week. I know he has them pre made and just picks the one that fits your brass. I sized one of the pieces of fireformed brass that came with the rifle. It took it down exactly .001 in all dimensions except headspace and neck obviously. Seems like it could not be a more perfect fit. Very pleased for under 85. Dollars
So how does this stack up against a custom die from a gunsmith, or Whidden, etc.... I have a Whidden custom die made to my brass for a different rifle, and it is fantastic. Love it. But is the harrels considered just as “custom”? I really don’t understand how it may differ. Is there really any difference besides the fact that Harrell’s only makes for a couple calibers?
Thanks everyone for answering my excessive questions lately. In a learning phase with the new toy
