Harrell's Precision retiring in December

Going to be a great loss to our community, great guys, great business. Its going to be an end of an era the way they did business.... sending product and invoice to buyer so the buyer then could send back a payment, this defiantly spoke to the quality of the product and the integrity of the man standing behind it. I always enjoyed talking with him when ordering something. Enjoy your retirement, it's well earned.

I have never used a Harrells powder measure, but I purchased a premium powder measure recently, and it arrived last week in Australia. It is extremely well made and finished. It’s very sad to see small manufacturers that produce such high quality products close down. But maybe someone will pick them up and continue the business.

Certainly a lot of good suppliers come and go in this industry, lots you never really hear about, unless you frequent the circle they cater to as well. Many only spend 10-15 yrs making the item too, as a retirement gig. Harrel's has been around a good 40 yrs I can think of, maybe 45.

I've used their Spiral Brakes for some time now, and recently added
a custom tuner from them for a grandsons rimfire. Always top notch.
Fellas.....With Harrels retirement looming shortly, Neal Jones, I live close
to, is still active for your needs. Not many left......

I’m sorry to learn they are throwing in the towel but I’m happy for them at the same time. Class act, innovative and a well managed company. Kudos to them! They certainly left their mark.

Even if they sold it would probably not maintain how they operate now but one could hope.

Either way, enjoy your retirement and congratulations.

There was a guy (Dennis maybe?) at harrels that was working to take it over. This was several years ago...Wonder if that is happening or never worked out?

I know that everyone deserves to retire and enjoy themselves, however it sure would be nice if someone could pick up the torch and carry it on.

I’m only about 6/7 years into precision shooting so I’ve only reached out and bought from them a few times.

I can still remember hanging up from my very first phone call to them and asking myself “who in this day and age does business like this ?” Invoice is in the package just mail back check. Call there and they talk to you with lathes , grinders and mills running in the background.

Truly a pleasure to talk too and do business with. You will be missed. Enjoy your retirement !!!!

When I first got into precision shooting I called them and told them what I wanted, I said whenever you are ready I'll give you my cc #, he laughed, I'll send this to you and include an invoice, just send a check. That was a WOW!!! I tried to catch the mail lady the same day but couldn't, check got in the mail the day after delivery.
I had a similar experience 20 years ago, amazing.

Dang, Over the last twenty years, bought numerous items including muzzle brakes for smokeless muzzleloaders shooting sabots. Will always remember the comment about them on the preferred hole diameter. "Make them .xxx so you don't get that cheese grater effect". LOL. Going to miss them for sure.
