Harrells Precision Muzzle Break??

Phil

Using a heavy varmint taper barrel that finishes at .900 I want a 1" diameter break, so I can turn it down to match the profile of the barrel, but what I'm not sure about is what thread pitch I should get.

Rifle is a 6 Dasher.....

Thanks,
Phil.

All my HV barrels, I've been using the 3/4"-32. One of the reasons of doing so, I can thread on a Harrells tuner brake after fitting one of their radial brakes.

5/8" or 3/4" will work.

You want to turn the least off the barrel as possible to avoid possible bore movement. I would go with a 3/4 thread, pitch doesnt matter.

This was my theory as well, coming from a welding background i have just enough practical machining experience to be dangerous.

Phil.

Actually, TPI matters greatly when it comes to 3/4". Make sure you go with 28TPI and not 24TPI or your selection of brakes will be GREATLY limited. I just went through this recently and finally sent the barrel back to be rethreaded 3/4" x 28 TPI If you plan to go with a tuner, I agree with the suggestion above to go 3/4" x 32 TPI.

I meant it doesnt matter if they offer more than one pitch, there is no benefit with one or the other. I checked their site and see they only offer a 3/4x32 so I guess that is the only option.
