Harrell's "clicks" conversion to grains

Can someone tell me what 69 clicks of RL17 would be in grains. I weigh my charges and don't throw with a Harrell's measure.

You should weigh and and verify. Something as important as this should not be found out from a forum post.

I have nothing to weigh, just reloading notes from a previous owner who used a Harrell's measure. Looking for a starting point for a wildcat cartridge. If you load for a 6mm Coyote let me know.

Start with 36 grains and work up. Any of the 6 x 47 lapua reloading data will work for you. If you have questions call Jerry Simison's shop. He created the cartridge.

I would never use a weight that was converted from clicks. The measures vary as to their volume at a particular setting, and measure technique can change weight significantly. I suggest that you work up starting with published data. Do you have any velocity info? If you can get that, it would make the workup go faster. (assuming that you have a chronograph)

Id try 40.5 gr,,that is what I used with a 100 gr bullet,,,,Roger

MANDATORY SAFETY RULE: Only use GRAINS when listing powder load values. NEVER EVER state loads in terms of Powder Measure Click Values. Any post using powder measure click values will be deleted or Modified. Follow this Rule!!!

The reason for this rule is simple. Click values are not suffificiently repeatable from measure to measure. Also, there is the potential for confusion by someone who mistakenly reads click values as grain units. That could result in dangerous loads.
