Harrell’s or Neil Jones FL die?

I’m in need of an FL die for a 6-PPC I don’t have the reamer for. I planned on using a Wilson bullet seater with either, unless there is a better option to go with a NJ/Harrell’s die specifically.
I would like to get some feedback on deciding between a Harrell’s die or a Neil Jones (without considering cost). Or if there is a better option, I’m all ears… it would be used in a Forster Co-Ax press.

Thanks,
Kern

Send a couple of cases, that have been fired in your chamber 3X, to Harrell's Precision Inc. You will not be disappointed.

If you send the same to, Neil Jones, you will not be disappointed either. Two of the best shops, in the business. And both, a pleasure to deal with.

I assume that the people at Harrell's want to be sure that the cases have been fully fireformed to the chamber size. Again, that is my assumption. If you want a definate answer contact Harrell's.

I don't know for sure either as I have not talked to Harrell's about it but I have talked to Neil Jones on the phone about it and that is exactly why he wants three,3 X fired in your chamber, neck sized two times and just deprimed the last time and sent so he gets full chamber dimensions I assume Harrell's needs are the same, I own both and like both.

I wasn’t expecting to hear a negative regarding either… thanks for your input, everyone. I’m going to try a Neil Jones die as I haven’t had the pleasure yet.

Best,
Kern

Using a Wilson seater? Figure your Co-Ax is gonna deliver better concentricity from a threaded die, even if Jones or Harrell?

Have LE Wilson do you a custom die from your 3x brass and forget about all the variables you will avoid. Not like you are going progressive or are seeking speed, is it? Buy the Wilson bushing sizer and forget your concerns.

Seems to me, all the dynamic action is in the sizing process. Might even see if Wilson would deliver a .0005 in-between sized bushing? Machinist could easily supply one.

Might be a thrill to have a custom die made and "own the best' (whatever that means) but paying custom prices to induce variables you don't have to contend with in arbor press-sizing die is not too clever. Of course, whatever makes you happy and floats your boat...

I wasn’t aware Wilson still made FL sizing dies… I’ll have to check it out, though I do prefer a threaded die for sizing. Nothing to do with a status thing “ own the best”…or speed, or whatever, not sure I follow you to be honest.

Thanks though.

I have and like both. Since you said price doesn't matter there is only one advantage and that goes to Harrell's. My Harrell's was in my hands in 5 days and the Neil Jones was here in 5 months.

Both great quality, just make sure to allow more time for the NJ.

For sure. Personnaly, I'd go with Neil Jones because I know his work. Some of the guys I shoot BR with have gone with him when they were not completely satisfied with what they had. You will need to send him 3 fired cases as well.
