8.25 7mm Twist results

I would like to hear the results of those shooting and 8.25 twist with the 180 Berger Hybrid and/or the 183 Sierra.

Thanks,
Jim Hardy

I have received a few PMs and it seems that very few are using this twist for anything but the 195 Hybrid. It just is not needed for the 180 and 183 class bullets.

My latest barrel is an 8.5 twist. To be honest, I did that in expectation of trying the 195 Berger. Since that bullet hasn't seen wide acceptance, I'll probably go back to a 9 twist for the next one.

That reminds me, I must order the next barrel.

FYI, I ordered my 7mm 9 twist on a Friday. It shipped on the following Monday, and I received it on Thursday. Bullets.com

Ok, I understand , now it makes sense since I have been trying to get that 8.25 rifle more settled on the rest due to the twisting upon recoil. Tried moving rest and bags around. I have not noticed any accuracy nor velocity issues however.

I'm using one in a 7/270 WSM which was done to shoot the 195 gr Hybrid. Before trying the 195's I thought I would run the barrel in developing a load for the 180 gr Hybrid. I'm glad I did as the 195's weren't as good as I had hoped for, but the 180 gr Hybrid have been excellent so far.
