Hard Charging Coyote!

Called this coyote in this morning and my cousin put the slam on him with his 12 gauge. Big male coyote. He came in hard charging fast and was very pissed! 10 yard shot on the kill. He about ran us over.

You bet when I do it ,I often use a turkey decoy the cheap blow up ones, they work fantastic especially at daybreak they'll attack the balloon blow up and then die instantly, most shots are 25 yards or less, 3.5 inch 12ga loaded with 2.5 ounces of # 2 tungsten shreds em even at 75 yards, $70.00 for 5 shells.

Glad the scatter gun was along. It can be downright embarrassing trying to get the crosshairs on fur using a 10X or larger scope at less than 50’.

I've been there many times, it's amazing how fast some of these yotes can come in, especially late fall when the pups are on their own and most uneducated by yahoos who haven't a clue.

Coyotes are super aggressive in the Summer. Territorial Problems

I tend to use combo guns and drillings with 1-4 scopes and rifles with 1.5-6 with fat reticles in closer cover because so many of them come in hot and close . It is nice to have a shotgun and a rifle at the switch of a trigger. Even my open country rifles wear 2-12 scopes and never come off 2x until one hangs up out there a ways. It is really surprising how many even in open country can find enough cover to surprise you at 30 yards or so.
