Hard Case for carrying spare / extra barrels????

What are you guy`s using for carrying your spare barrels to the range?????

Looking for something, ideally, in the 36-42 inch range so i can also use it to ship barrels / actions to the smith and get them back in the same box....

It would be nice if i could use it to carry 10+ barrels into the dog towns too.......;)

I want to be able to transport them all in one case, all at the same time.....

PVC just won`t work for this one....

Plano makes some hard cases in that range with the width/depth to carry 10 barrels. I cut the foam in a 36" model to carry my spotter/Giraud stand. It does lock but I would not use it to ship a single barrel; for that I would use a cardboard tube/pvc.

Needs to be more than two.....

Ideally what i`m looking for would be 36-42 in. long and 12" in height so i could cut out compartments and stack them on top of each other, with foam separating them of course.....

A hard case would be best, so it could go in the truck and not have to be a concern if it were packed on the bottom....

I have a shop and stacks of wood. Send me your dimensions and I'll put it together. Mention how fancy you want(plywood or Cherry). I'll give you my price(cheap) and you donate it to the site. Win win. Let me know, Josh
PS: include any ideas you may have, I.e. Flat rectangular, square with stacked trays inside, etc.

If you want to go custom, here is a good option https://americase.com
I would use the plastic pipe and fasten them in a bundle with radiator type clamps. That way you could put as many as you want in the bundle. Or I would just build a plywood box and have a door on the end with all the plastic tubes arranged in it so I could pull them out of the end.

10 barrels with 1.25" shanks is 12.5" then say 1" foam spacers in between each barrel and from the edge of the case and you'd be looking at a case needing to have at least a 25" inside width. Maybe look at some of the double sided AR15 rifle hard cases. They are about 36"-40" long and +/- 15" wide, but theres two compartments which gives you 15" wide in each compartment (total storage width roughly 30"). Might be able to modify them to work for 10 barrels.

This is kind of where I thought I`d have to go with this........

Guess I need to buy an AR now........

Google search "ice rod case" for carrying multiple ice fishing rods. They're usually 36" long. Most have a Cordura cover with shoulder strap but are hard cased inside. Some are more like pelican boxes too.

Lol. ARs are fun in their own way. Some can be really accurate too. I just built one this year for varmint hunting because it's easy to swap uppers or barrels. With a custom bull barrel, it consistently shoots 5 shots under 1/2" @ 100 yards. Then with a 30 or 40 round magazine, it ought to bring an impressive amount of carnage to the wheat fields of battle ;)

Rigid PVC pipe comes in diameters up to 20 inches or more. Wrap 'em in bubble wrap and stack 'em in the PVC and you'll have 'em all in one case.
