HAPPY NEW YEAR FROM AUSTRALIA

Hiya fortunately no,
I live in Tasmania, an island off the bottom of the country. Though its cool and wet most of the year down here we don't get the tropical rains that they get up the north of the country.
My brother lives up there though and from what he has told me its pretty bad, a lot worse than he has ever seen and he has been up there for the last 15 years. The worst part of it apart from the loss of peoples possessions is the fact that 60% of the nations fresh produce comes from the areas that have been flooded, destroying a vast majority of this seasons crops so I would imagine the prices are going to go through the roof over the next 6 months. So having said that yes we down here will be affected but not directly by the loss of land and property.another big thing is the country is only half way into the wet season for those areas directly affected so hopefully the second half of the wet season will go past without too much rain.
Seems as though the weather has gone crazy no matter what continent you live on with the snow storms across Europe, the UK and the USA and the excess of rain here the global warming augment is well and truly standing up. Lets hope that things don't get too far out of hand before they can get something sorted to start the cooling cycle.
Guess to help we could eat more steak to stop the methane going into the atmosphere and leave the veggies to keep sucking up the carbon ;D

Jeeze, I,m only in the next state, and everyone here seems to have their sprinklers on the lawns and gardens because of the hot cloudless days we have been having. Send a bit of rain here.

308RUG,
Are you acquainted with George Cusens in Tasmania? He is a custom gunsmith and harvests beautiful walnut stock blanks.

Hi Butch ,
No cant say that have met him however now that I know he dose Walnut Stocks I will be asking around the traps as I very much like the look of them. I don't know if you would of heard of it or not but another nice wood for a stock is Blackwood, some of the grain markings that you find are absolutely beautiful and it really looks outstanding when polished up and shaped into a rifle stock. Well worth having a look if you like wooden stocks and don't mind spending a few dollars on a nice one.
