I would like to send out a Happy Fathers Day to all of the Forum members. Hopefully, every member can have a good time with their Dads and have great memories of the Dads that has passed. Prayers to the ones of us that has lost our Dad's, I do miss mine terrible.

God Bless,

Tom

Nice thought.

Lost my dad in 87, still hurts. He was a supreme hunter - WWII era vet. Taught me how to hunt - have some fond memories of those years. Life is all about events / experiences and your loved ones - not materialism. It took me a long time to learn that vital life lesson.

May God Shine His Blessing on all of you not only on this day but every day. May He lead our nation out of darkness into the light of HIs grace.

Thank you very much. Wishing you the same, happy times with family & friends.

All the best, Peter.

I was raised by a doctor who was no relationship to me other than a family friend years earlier.
Great person who I have fond memories of.
As the years passed I came realize father may be someone who is no relation to you. Rather someone who taught and loved you.
I think of him often but especially on Father’s Day.

I am not a biological father as far as I know. I do however identify as one since marrying into a passel of grandkids. I also frequently take the opportunity to pass fatherly advice on to folks who are woefully in need of it. There seems to be no end of souls in this world who don't have the blessing of a father in their lives.

I lost my Dad a little over a month ago, and today is both a blessing and a pain. My Dad was the "real deal", and I was blessed by God to have been born his son. Most of what's good about me is the result of his love, and prayers. My Dad taught me to work hard, and to do a good job of the work I did. That alone got me through the hardest times in my life. I pity the folks who don't have a father to teach them that.

Thank you Dad, I love you. jd

Lost my Dad in 2003. For some reason, Friday afternoon, he was especially on my mind. I thought of a thousand little memories of things we did together, from somewhere around 4-5 yo until the Bugler played Taps at his funeral.
For those of you that still have your Father around, talk to him. There are thousands of questions that only he can answer. One day, you won't be able to talk to him. I have reached for the phone hundreds of times since he passed. It is an empty feeling.

Added:
Today is his birthday. Would have been 98.

God Bless all fathers, gone like mine or still present.

Dad passed in 2000. Taught me respect for our country, hunting, fishing, basic machining and welding, markmanship (all sling and irons), gun safety and respect for others. He was born in 1924 and served in Europe in WWII. Miss him and wish the could see his 6 great-grandchildren his two granddaughters brought into this world.
