Happy 1911 day

Now my curiousity is up, I guess I will have to start looking for the Rem. What makes them desirable pls.
When they first came out the price was very good so I bought one, the fit and finish is very good with a storm lake barrel iirc and tight bushing and barrel link. I’ve had a couple upgrades of course but it’s a real good shooter

it looks like a real nice 1911, not over the top.

Thanks, it’s been shot a few times, as you can see the obvious rear target sights ( Bomar style) ,Dave Neilson did all the work on it.
I like the cylinder & slide ignition with extra attention given to polishing the sear to about 2# pull. He stoned the frame and slide and tuned all the springs. Ed Brown trigger shoe and grips, Wilson combat GI mags.
I’m in it more than I could sell it for. Lol

Yeah, but you know the quality and accuracy of your 1911. I noticed that rear sight right off. People who know 1911s can spot a quality one 10 feet away.

I have a mid/late 1980's series 70 Gold Cup NM that makes it impossible for a beer or soda can to survive anywhere within 50 yards if I hold steady. Wonderful pistol. I found a pair of genuine Walter Roper grips for it a few years ago and have put those on to take the heat of the factory ones.
