Just an update. Shot a match today with no issues, no misfires. That's 86 rounds since replacing the spring and polishing the back of the firing pin 'shaft' to keep it from dragging in the bolt shroud. Another 100 trouble free rounds and I'll call this one a winner. Thanks for the help guys.

Looks like they had a light weight spring in there to help bolt lift. Theres no free lunches. Shorter pin fall, lighter springs can make an action feel nice, but are never the right answer.
