HALL ACTIONS

Hi
What are peoples thoughts on Hall action? What about the M and B models??? For a 6.5-284? They right up there with Nesika and BAT?

Also, where can I get info. on Farley actions.. I see there website is under-construction.

I am not one to wait for ages... and I see Brunos has a good supply of the HALL's.

I think preference would be towards the Model B, 1.75 diameter.

The Hall's are fine actions as good as the other customs. I would opt for the M for the 6.5x284. The B works well for the smaller cases.

I had a Hall in a 6 PPC, I sold it and got a Nesika. ONLY reason I sold it was because I like the RBLP action for BR. I bought it used and got back what I paid for it. They are a nice action.

Anyone know the port lenght on a model M and if they can be ordered drilled and tapped for coventional pillar bedding ? Halls website says there made to be glued in.

I have a M hall action and the port length is 2.475 long.Its chambered in 6.5/270 imp and with the bolt fully back i can just about get my little finger in and pull out an empty.It is also pillar bedded and glued in.They come ready drilled and tapped for the action stock bolts except for the front trigger guard screw, that ones a dummy screw.My only gripes with it are i think the bolt handle could be abit longer to aid extraction and i dont like the fact that whilst cycling the bolt you are relying on the bolt stop to keep it in alinement, my actions approx 10 years old now and shows some wear in that area.Apart from that it is a very well made, solid action, and on the day "providing i do my part" still produces the goods.I think its about time Hall updated their web page also.

What I've heard is that what Farley tells you for a delivery time you better triple it! Ask anyone who's ordered a rest or action from them and they'll tell you exactly how long it takes.

What is a Hall Model D action? It's not on his web site.
