Had my old rifle Bugholed

Poor old 700 BDL 25-06 Daddy got me back in the 70s, I carried that thing lots of miles and killed lots of critters with it but man it was wore out. No rifilings for 3-4 inches and wouldn’t extract for crap.
Last summer I drove the 30 miles up to Bugholes and had Greg and Russ rebuild the thing ground up.
Blueprinted the action , pinned a .250 recoil lug to it and put in the M16 extractor, Bartlien 1-10 26” 25-06 bbl and had it all cerakoted in Midnight Blue even the bottom metal. I put the original 6x Redfield Wideview scope on it just for pictures as it was back then. I’ll probably change that though.
Anyways I’m glad to have it back and may even shoot it in the near future.

I’ve got a gloss 3.5-10 Leupold I’m gonna put on it, then I’ll probably work up a load for it and try kill a couple deer with it this fall.

It was an awesome rifle back before rangefinders and scopes with good turrets. It was just point and shoot out to 350 or so

Many of us remember those days....when range finding was "educated guessing"! That's when flat shooting made a lot of us look better than we were!

Wasn't 1983 just a couple years ago? I seem to have a photo very much like that. Mine was an ADL 30-06 my dad won at a raffle.

That is a mighty nice rifle. I have been shooting a 25-06 over 60 years. A great caliber for anything from gophers to deer. A little light for elk, especially in grizzly bear country. I didn't use mine during the years I was training dogs and hunting water fowl, but shot lots of deer, antelope, rock chucks and prairie dogs. I just restocked it and in the process of putting the Bausch & Lomb 2 1/2X to 8X scope back on it. Put a good trigger and safety in that 700 and that's as good as it gets. Hunt/shoot safely!!
