Had a MIRACLE from the Post Office happen today

I have another package that shipped today. Keeping fingers crossed. This one is going via surface mail

I get 4-5 packages a week delivered by USPS, haven’t had any go missing for many years, what the hell is wrong with me?
th
.Couldn't Resist.......

Hope it was FedEx.
Sometimes we should be careful what we hope for. Last Wed., I received a small bubble wrap package from Brownells via Fedex. The original shipping label still on it was Aug. 28, 2024. Brownells had refunded my funds after it went missing for about 2 weeks (plus now out of the product, brushes for last summer's PD hunts). The package also had coffee/coke stains all over the back and some on the front side -- plus a new small tag that was dated the day before I received it. Obviously had been setting somewhere for nearly 8 months -- a record in my case.

You win. I had one 7 weeks mia

It amazes me sometimes. My shipping bill with UPS is on the order of $20,000+, per week. I average about 2-3 lost packages per month, and of those maybe 1 out of 6-8 is not recovered. My team is aggressive with claims, disputing many decisions forcing them to pull GPS location of drivers on delivery with time stamps and usually can collect on those claims.

USPS, we only ship small, inexpensive or nearly free samples, and have about a 95% success rate, but only ship maybe 30-50 small flat rates a month.

The only way I ship FedEx is if the customer provides us an account number and it is on them if it lost or late.

I know we are all accustomed to price shopping for deals and getting free shipping when ordering stuff, but when you think about it, sending a single package from Joe Shooter to your gunsmith, you are just a single retail customer and really should be looking for the carrier that offers the best conflict resolution and service guarantee. Because they all have the same trucks and people working for them, but its the morals of the claims department and company as a whole that will really make a difference when something goes wrong.

The Post Office delivered a heavy package today. It was mailed Thursday via priority mail with today's deliver date. Guess what,
IT WAS DELIVERED AS Promised.
