Had a MIRACLE from the Post Office happen today

The Post Office delivered a heavy package today. It was mailed Thursday via priority mail with today's deliver date. Guess what,
IT WAS DELIVERED AS Promised.
The World is round again. :)
Good things do happen, i think with patience.
One of my customers whose whole barrel got lost in shipping last week
Suddenly somehow showed up again and was delivered back to him.
We were both very elated and surprised
What a relief for somebody to not have to buy a new barrel again.

I sold a scope to a guy in Alaska yesterday. I've sold him stuff before, and I new he was good for it,,,soooo I went down to ship it. USPS was less than $20 bucks. FedEX was $160+...UPS was $130+. I called the guy. He took FedEX. No way did he want me to ship USPS no matter what the price was!!

You need to go buy a lottery ticket

Sometimes we should be careful what we hope for. Last Wed., I received a small bubble wrap package from Brownells via Fedex. The original shipping label still on it was Aug. 28, 2024. Brownells had refunded my mdse. after it went missing for about 2 weeks (plus now out of the product, brushes for last summer's PD hunts). The package also had coffee/coke stains all over the back and some on the front side -- plus a new small tag that was dated the day before I received it. Obviously had been setting somewhere for nearly 8 months -- a record in my case.
Wow! But hey, that Fedex arrow in their logo does point backwards unless they're backing up. It's a slow process.

My wife (fiancée at the time) wrote me a letter in 1966 that I received sometime in 1971-72. Don't remember the exact year anymore. I was in Vietnam when she wrote it, and I got in when I was back home.

I feel pretty lucky... the local UPS, FedEx and USPS guys are all good.

I will say that when I track the shipments though, USPS takes some crazy routes.

On a similar subject....It has taken 4 weeks to get UPS to pick up a package from me - to go to Canada.

UPS aren't very big down here - but even so, 4 weeks and 6 or 7 phone calls, plus 2 online requests. To be fair, they are generally good at delivery and no, we don't have drop off places.

Amazon overloads the post office when they have overflow business. Apparently, they have some super sweetheart deal with the USPS. So, when you see an Amazon package that you ordered that was supposed to be next day suddenly go to three days and get delivered by your postman, there you go. Or when your Christmas cards don't arrive until February, that is wonderful Amazon doing that.

Wow. My latest issue is UPS. I had $100 of pork shoulder spoil because it spend four days in Indy and just tonight my girlfriends frozen smoothie box showed up very warm with the dry ice bag empty.
