H4895 and 107 SMK in 6BRA

Trying to load 29.4 gr H4895 with 107 SMK bullets in 6BRA. GRT is saying it's 93.7% load density, but having trouble seating bullets at .012" into lands w/o powder interference/compression. Using Lapua 2X FF brass. Measured 2X FF case capacity is 39.4 gr of H2O. Should 29.4 gr of H4895 and 107 SMK in a 6BRA cartridge be causing compression issues?

How much FB? SMKs have a lot of bearing surface. I have .104 FB and load 31gr of H4895 with Barts 105s and Lapua brass without any issue. I can even jump them .015 if I needed to.

If you are going to stick with that bullet then you will need a long drop tube. A couple of taps on your bench with your finger over the neck will help settle the powder as well.

Yep
I’m guessing a short freebore as well
With a .104FB, Peterson brass and R16 I’m running 33.8 grains and a 107smk.

What OAL are you going to OP?

Appreciate everyone's thoughts.

At .012 into the lands, my COAL is 2.412. Don't know the FB. Rifle was bought from the estate of a smith who built it and passed away. But, just looking at it with a scope, it doesn't look to be particularly short. Going to double check my lands measurement (Wheeler method) and the setting on my seating die.

How much bullet is down into your case...what's your fb?

I shoot 29.3gr H4895 107smk all the time.in my 6BR and still have room in the case (0.110 fb)

There a video on YouTube about this using an electric toothbrush clamp to your loading breach will allow you to manage loading more powder

Well, it appears that what I thought was compression was really an issue with my arbor press not being fully locked down and was moving when seating (didn't think the case looked full enough to be a compressed load...). After tightening, I was able to seat to the required depth with no problem. Was even able to load some RL15.5 at 30.9 gr (even lower bulk density than H4895) without an issue. Live and learn...
