H4831SC in the 6mmAR?

I just started loading for my new 6mm AR, using suggested loads from Robert Whitley and also from friends who shoot this round. H4895 and R15 seem to be the powders that work, but I have been wondering. I have a 6mm-22/250 bolt gun I use for NRA LR, and have used both R15 and H4831SC,my regular powder now)with good results. On the chart the burn rates are quite different, but for some reason both work in that cartridge, and work well. I look at my new 6mmAR case and see something that looks a lot like my 6mm-22/250 with respect to the case size to bullet diameter ratio. It makes me wonder if the H4831SC would work in the 6mmAR case as it does, quite well) in the 6mm-22/250 case. If the larger cartridge will shoot R15 & H4831SC, why not the smaller case.

I mainly ask be cause I have a lot of H4831SC and would like to put it to good use!

TIA

I don't know about the 6mmAR but the 223 AR is sensitive to gas pressure and with out an adjustable gas port you will need to try various loads to get a load that works the bolt correctly. Try half grain adjustments from the published starting load till you get one that works just right in your gun.
