Why can't I find any H4350 ? Is this Obama's doing ?
Guns guys, stockpile?!?! Who would believe that.Popularity of the 6.5 Creedmoor has a lot to do with it. I never had any problems finding powder until Ruger came out with their factory RPR and new shooters jumped on board wanting to get into the long range game. Coincidence maybe, but I also think that many shooters getting into the shooting sports are moving beyond the AR "blaster" mentality and into the precision world through tactical and F-Class and thus using rounds that are more ballistically efficient.
Also, shortages feed themselves. A guy goes into a store hoping to get a couple of pounds of powder and sees there are 10 available. He also knows that it's been months since he's seen it on the shelf so he buys more than he needs to "stockpile" until it becomes available again. Multiply this by many and you have empty shelves and a demand by those who don't have powder and who will "stockpile" next time it becomes available.
Is it stockpiling when you have 32# all the same lot of it and your 78 years old ? Lol LarryGuns guys, stockpile?!?! Who would believe that.
Nah. That's not stockpiling, that's being smartIs it stockpiling when you have 32# all the same lot of it and your 78 years old ? Lol Larry
Like a skip in an album; keep hearing this same boust over and over and over.Is it stockpiling when you have 32# all the same lot of it and your 78 years old ? Lol Larry
I also have about 16 lbs of Varget on the shelf and am having a 6mm Creedmoor built. It should be finished in another month or so but I guess I'm going to need some H4350 now. It never hurts to have Varget on hand though.I'm also betting it's related to the rise of 6.5 creedmoor and other calibers that work well with H4350.
Seems like just yesterday Varget was the powder everyone wanted and you couldnt find it any where. Now, the two rifles I shoot the most (260 & 6.5 grendel) don't use Varget and I have a bunch of it sitting on my shelf. I still use Varget for 223 and my military surplus rifles, just don't shoot those very often. I also have a couple pounds of imr 4064 from when I couldn't find Varget, lol.
If you never use it, the value will rise quicker than gold-good investmentIs it stockpiling when you have 32# all the same lot of it and your 78 years old ? Lol Larry
