H4350 in a Dasher

Well I'm running low on Varget and R15, but have a decent supply of H4350. Using 103 to 107 Gr bullets. Thanks for any input.

I just tried some today shooting hydroformed brass. Used 105 nosler rdf's. The loads were compressed, I think with the hydroformed brass I will run out of case capacity before seeing pressure. They shot pretty well. Single digit sd and es of about 13 on average. Velocity average for the highest charge weight was 2930 fps.

That sounds encouraging. My best load with Varget is only running about 2950 fps. How many grains did you get in there if you don't mind me asking.

Commonly used on Dashers here in South Florida. Long drop tube is essential. You really cannot put in too much to get pressure. How much you can put it is easy to check. Look at the seating and measure carefully.

If that measurement changes and the bullet is pushed up - reduce the charge until you can reliably hold your seating depth.

35.5 was the most I got in. That was too much, the bullets backed out 5 thousands after seating. 35.2 was fine.

Yep, I will have to make a 6mm drop tube, or an adapter for the 30 cal drop tube I made.

I just started working with Lovex Precision Rifle powder.
The guy's over in Europe use it, and claim it's close to
Varget. Mid South Shooters Supply had it in stock. It's
a stick powder

Ii have used 36gr. in a BRX (which is similar) and the accuracy was good but the velocity was down a bit from my Varget loads. I'd do it again if I had to.

how's the load development coming along? I was thinking of switching from Varget to either Precision or Long Rifle

I used a fiberglass arrow shaft to make a 30" drop tube.. Check with a supplier to get the right inside diameter.

I've been running H4350 in my 6BRX in a few barrels (and i have a few mates running it in their Dashers also, they get over 36gr in their cases with long drop tube) and we have been having great success and speeds have been around the 3000fps with 105gr to 108gr projectiles in 28" barrels
here are some speeds from my new batch of powder and 108gr bergers at 400m/437y and labradar (i had a flag in the way so didn't get any data on those 2 groups)
ladder.jpg
but the 35.2gr is 2945fps from a test i did a few days before but i was at less powder (started at 34.2gr which was 2893fps)
the 35gr to 35.2gr has 0.7xx vert and the 35.6 to 35.8gr has 0.9xx vert and this barrel has had 1050 rounds down it now ..old patch of powder i was using 35.5gr at 2975fps
at 35.8gr i starting to get get crunching of powder but I'm not using a long drop tube and i run 150FB

i was running 107gr smk in last 28" krieger barrel and was getting 3007fps with 35.6gr and it shot great with a few just over an inch groups at 500m/547y when i did my bit

I’m pretty new to all this so this may be obvious, do folks look for and find good size nodes in a Dasher below 2900 fps, or it the point of Dasher to run and be used above 2900…?
Thank You

I use 33.1g of Rl-15 and my seating depth never changes. It’s not even that close to neck / shoulder.
