So hard to find it seems. Has anyone tried to work up an F Class type load using AA 4350?

I was able to score 3 lbs of H... tonight as well as a couple of pounds of Varget. Nice lady has yet to gouge since all of this mess started.

Sorry I didn't mean to hide anything. The OP Asked about AA-4350 and Varget in the 6XC. I've tried them both and this is my experience.

I started with the 6XC when you couldn't get brass or H-4350. That left me no choice except to fireform some Lapua 22-250 brass. Looking at my burn chart it lists IMR-4350 as the fastest followed by H-4350 (impossible to find at the time) then AA-4350, just a little faster than 4831.

My original fireforming load was Lapua brass, 36 grs of AA-4350, Berger moly 105 Hybrids and Winchester L/R primer. I found this load didn't blow the shoulders out as much as I wanted so I increased the load to 38 grs. Brass came out fully fireformed with no signs of pressure. Working up a load for 600 yd F Class competition I settled on 39.5 grs of AA 4350 and Wolf LR primers. This produced 5 Rd groups under .5" at 300 yds in testing with a MV just over 3,000 fps. At the time I lived in Florida and the work up was done in temps between 60 - 80 degrees (several months)

As the temperature and humidity increased (80's +) my groups began to open up. I played around adjusting powder charges, seating depth and neck tension but not much changed. I mentioned this to another very experienced shooter after a local club match. He stated he found the same using H-4350 and suggested trying Varget when the weather got hot.

Back to load development using Varget.
107 moly SMK's, same brass and primers. I settled on 35 grs. No pressure signs, 3,000 fps, good SD and ES. I could push for more velocity but for the local 600 yd matches this load in warm weather is the "cats meow" in my rifle producing sub-half MOA groups.

I know a lot of shooters use 4350 and it's a great powder in the 6XC I still use it. My rifle is a two powder gun. One for hot weather and one for cool.

Testing:
105 Berger Hybrids and 107 SMK's both moly coated. Lapua 22-250 brass fireformed. AA-4350 and Varget powders. Winchester LR and Wolf LR primers. Firearm is a Gilkes-Ross action, 30" Krieger 1/8 barrel. Initial testing was done at 300yds. Temperature ranged from mid 60's to mid 80's. Humidity from 50 to 80 percent. Elevation (there isn't any in FLA) about 20 feet.
