H4198

I went back a month in the reloading components thread and H4198 was only spotted once, Tuesday the 4th at Powder Valley. Has anyone seen any around? Seems Varget is more available. Any ideas why?

It also comes from Australia and gets unloaded in California and last I heard ships are sitting waiting to get into port. Powders from Europe seem to get here faster on the east coast.

N120 would be a compatible substitute. ( different load data though)

Campatible substitutes are IMR-4166 and Shooter World Precision. Both were made to be very close to and compete with varget. I've had good results with both, better than Varget.
N-120 is a good bit faster than Varget. I use 120 in my little 20 VT

30 BR Alternate powder choices, other than H4198

Since H4198 is only available from person to person, is IMR 4198 or LT 32 a Viable alternative? AA2200? Crazy times we live in for sure. I appreciate any feedback. Keith

H4198 was available at a handful of places yesterday. My local store also just got two cases in. Hang in there.

Today, I was able to get an 8 of H4350 as well as an 8 of H1000. I think I’ll tackle Loch Ness next.

Powder Valley had it for a couple of hours day before yesterday. I forwarded the link to a couple of buddies and a guy on here. I was told but could not confirm there was some at Midway as well, about the same time they posted Varget, about 9 am Friday.
