H4198 vs H4198 Extreme

Being new to the .30 BR, I have been gathering my supplies to load for this cartridge. So far I have the following powders that seem to be in the right burn rate category for this cartridge. I have N130, 2015, LT-32, IMR 4198, H4198, and H4198 Extreme. The Extreme is different in granular size and color from the older H4198. Are they basically the same as far as burning rate and density are concerned. Thanks, James Mock

James....I think the most important thing with the H-4198 is be shure it is "short cut" ,,,it will give better load density,,,,Im anxious to try some N-130 and Rx-7,,,that will give me a spring time project,,,,H-4198 is the go to powder,,,,I hope you are wintering well,,,Roger

What Roger said; I don't think you will get adequate load density with the original 4198's that have long, pencil lead size granules. Another powder that wasn't mentioned is H-322; some folks got good performance with it in the past. Personally, I don't think you can do better than H4198 Extreme or N-130. I have no experience with LT-32.

Thanks Roger and Joe. I do have some H322. I have more n130 than I do H4198 Extreme so I will probably begin with it. James

Forget the IMR 4198 and the old style H4198. Can't get enough in the case..

Some lots of Reloader 7 work. Some, not dense enough. Lot to lot variation is an issue.

I haven't tried LT-32 in the 30 BR. Is the cats pajamas in my 30 Major. Just a pain to get enough in the case. The Major is between the 30 PPC and BR case, so I'm eager to try it in the BR.
