H4198 - 6 ppc

Link

Silver $$ Contributor
Went to the reloading on line manual and it states that using H4198 in the 6ppc is starting at 21 gr. min. That looks to be 3/4 of a full case ? And 22gr. max. I haven't fired this brass yet, as I am fireforming and a lil practice at the same time. I also have H4895 in stock.
Anyone use these powders with any success?
What to do?

thanks Link

What bullet weights are you trying to shoot? I had several Custom Benchrest Rifles over the years with 14" twists for shooting one hole groups with 66 grain bullets at 100 yards. When I gave up competitive benchhrest I tried one of the rifles for a varmint and antelope rifle using 80 grain Speer bullets. Mind you this was a custom rifle with brass for each barrel so presures might be considerably more than what a standard M700 might want. I shot 25 grains of H4198. For 66 grain bullets I cannot find any notes where I tried H4198 but I used it extensively in my 22-100 ppc short. I had very good luck with 66 grain bullets in the 6ppc using H322 and of course v133. I shot many 1/4" groups while fireforming. Tom

My guys got me started on H322, they told me as inexperienced as I was I would lose my mind chasing tune with VV133. I whip them on a regular basis with newboy powder, I bought an 8lb jug and I am not even looking for VV 133.
