H414 in .308

I have noticed recently that H414 is available in local shelves and in greater quantities than my usual .308 powders IMR-4064 and Varget.

Who has had experience using this powder in .308 Win with 175 gr Bullets (SMK or Nosler Custom Comp)?

My rifle seems to like speeds between 2550 and 2600 fps with these bullets and the "data" says it could work. I'm interested in others experience with this powder.

Haven't used it in my 308, but my 270 and 30-06 like it. 1/2" - 3/4" groups at 100 with 100% factory bolt guns. Both shooting Nosler Ballistic tips. Since they are hunting guns, I still have the same 8# jug I bought many many moons ago.

Those calibers pretty much bracket the .308

Sounds like it should work well then.

H414 is much like H4350 in ball powder form, but a little more dense. My loads prefer hotter primers like Federal and Remington. My use is .22-250 with 69g Sierras.

My rile did not like 414 at all along with many other powder like xbr 4350 blc2 w748. H or IMR 4895 and Varget are good along with vvN150 or n135. You will find a lot of stuff that doesn't work to the one that dos work. All you can do is buy it and try it out. Just my 2 cents on it.
