h1000, 22 cal bullets and medium size cases

Is there any information out there about cases like the 22-250ai, 22 creedmoor, 22xc cases out there using a slow powder like h1000 for heavy bullets with moderate velocities?
Essentially, what I am asking for, is there a potential for a 22 caliber rifle to be a scaled down 6 competition match? This would be with heavier bullets using a slower, cooler burning powder to get longer barrel life with heavier bullets at moderate 3000ish velocities.

I used to run a 22-250 AI with a 7 twist barrel. 39ish grains of Retumbo gave me a very accurate 3000fps with a 90gr Berger VLD. I'm sure that I could have gotten another 300fps from the combination, but accuracy was stellar at the low velocity and I had the same long barrel life goal as you.

I know of one other person who did the same thing, but using a case full of H50BMG. He claimed better velocity with even less case pressure. I never tried this myself.

My Swift loves H1000. 55 to 60 gr. pills. Tommy Mc

I think the swift might be a little bigger case than I have in mind. I guess what I am thinking is being essentially able to find an off the shelf cartridge that can use the high bc bigger bullets in a bolt gun but doesn't have the magazine issues of say a 6br. Also something that has some viable barrel life 2500 vs 1200.
I wonder though if the 22-250 ackley or 22 creedmoor are a little too overbore even with a cooler powder to last. Perhaps there is only one way to find out.

I'm currently using 37gr of H4350 in a .223 WSSM with Hornady 88gr ELDs at about 3050fps. The WSSM's even more capacity than the Swift though. So far it's been doing just fine, but it's only got 165 rounds down it right now, so I don't know what the barrel life will end up like.

I don't know about H50BMG, but I did work up a load using surplus WC860 just to see what it'd do. It got to 3000fps at 100% case fill (53gr) with the 88s. It's low pressure for sure, but quickoad says there's a lot of unburnt powder that I don't want going through my muzzle devices. 46g of Retumbo and 44gr Reloder 26 are near the pressure limit and yield about 3150-3200fps.

If you want something akin to the .22BR that potentially "feeds better" you might consider the .220 Thunderbolt. It's same/same, but different.

If you spread a bedsheet out on the ground in front of your muzzle, shoot a few rounds and then look for unburnt powder kernels on the sheet, you'll quickly know if the powder your loading is burning efficiently or is too slow for your bullet choice.

A too slow powder will also create more muzzle blast potentially upsetting the bullet with a swift kick in the butt as it leaves the barrel.

Combustion efficiency is a good thing, but combustion predictability may be more important to ES and SD numbers. Which one is more important to you is dependant upon what goal you're shooting for.

What weight bullet are you looking to push at 3000fps?

223AI won’t get to 3000 with 85 or higher pills but you will get to 2900 with the 85.5 Berger and probably close to 2900 with 90s.

You’re also looking at 3500 rounds af accurate barrel life.

I know R26 works very well in a 22 Creedmoor so I’d guess you probably would get what you’re looking for woth H1000 in a similar sized case.

Thats pretty sneaky with the bedsheet.
Awesome!

would the bedsheet trick work with a sound mod fitted aswell?
