H-S Precision butt pad - how hard to change it?

Hi All,
quick question. I picked a used H-S Precision stock. Not sure what caliber it came off, guessing .223? It is for a rem 700. How hard is it to change the butt pad to a thicker one? It has a very thin pad on there at present. Would like to increase the lop a little.

Is it just a matter or cutting / grinding off the one on there at the moment? I don't see any screw holes, looks like its glued on.

If its like the only one ive seen fall off its glued on and the back of the stock has a recess it goes into but the rest of the stock is solid. I figure you could grab it with some sort of pliers and break it out rocking it

I have the same stock and I just use a slip on magnum limb saver. Not classy but effective

How deep is the recess?
