H&R M1 Garand value

I need help. Trying to help a widow. Deceased husband had 2 H&R M1 Garand that appear to be unfired/not issued. Any idea what they are worth?

First check going rate with CMP web. But never go below $1,200.00 each. See what your local gun store would give for each, as a local starting point. That might save you and her a lot of paper work in selling them.

I was going to say, probably $1500 each.

seriously doubt that they are unfired. Probably unfired after re arsenaled. But if they are completely correct and the muzzle and throats measure new, 1500-2k. H&rs are the least desired imho, nothing wrong with them,
People just want Springfields cause its springfield, Winchester cause its Winchester, and IHC cause theyre the least made.

Because there are a number of folks that don't meet the minimum requirements to purchase through the CMP.
Usually it's not because they "don't meet the minimum requirements". It's because they meet the requirements, or could very easily, but just won't fill out the paperwork and send it in with the documentation, because it is outside of what they know, ie, going to a gunshop. They then label that as having to "jump through hoops" like a trained dog to justify having paid more money for it.

Correct, surplus weapons seem to have this weird ability to be new many times, even 37-1/2 times after being refurbished and reparkerized, that many times, as long as the current Parkerizing or blueing, bore and wood look new.

ONLY the IHC "GAP" Garand is the least made, a little more then 22.000. I have one

To get a true idea of value we would need to see some detailed pictures. I would be happy to help if you’re interest send me some pictures. I’ve been Collecting for quite a while and have a good knowledge base.
