Long shot--- Looking for my M1 Garand that I sold in Dallas

I'm putting this on here as a real long shot, but I am looking to find the gentleman I sold my M1 Garand to a few years back at the Dallas Gun Show.

It was completely custom M1, and I did all the work. It was a Springfield, that was fully bedding in a Boyd's laminated stock. The rifle had been converted to 308. It had a very nice service rifle sling attached to it also.

Anyway, I would like to try to find this nice man and buy my rifle back, as I regret ever selling it. I was in a bad place at the time.

I traded it for a Sig 9mm.

Any help would be appreciated.

I would post an ad on the websites for the Haltom City Gun Club, Terrel Pistol & Rifle Club, and the Pennel County (sp?) in Cartage, TX. Who knows, but the buyer may be shooting Garand matches at these clubs.

When I've sold one of my firearms, I recorded the buyer's info in my gun file. That way, if something does happen after the sale, the Feds won't come looking for me. I realize that doesn't help you now, but food for thought in the future.

I traded in a savage for a rem 700 SA once at a gun shop but went back the next day and bought my rifle back. Ended up with both. I have too hard a time selling guns.
