H 4895 IMR 4895

According to ADI these tow powders are equivalent - NOT to be interchange GRAIN for GRAIN!! goto ADI Powders and read the info.

I looked at the Hodgdon powder site and ran a search for all bullets grains in .223 Remington with IM4895 and H4895, there are a lot of similar loads, some exactly the same, some a bit different.

I hope since this is from Hodgdon it is ok to share.

Those numbers refer to performance specs and are generally military based.
The H4895 and the IMR4895 are quite different.
They are made on different continents, have different chemistry, different granule size, different burn speeds and use different data.

I havevused equal amounts of both about 15 tubs of each
FTR shooter
My expereince for same velocity +- 10 fps is 0.6 gn more IMR
on berger 155 in lapua palma brass
Same for cci or fed primers
