H 4350 for 30 BR?

Zero333 showed a Quickload data that used a Hornaday 168 and generated 50,000 psi. Which did make me wonder, how that would work with a 17 twist barrel?
As mentioned earlier, I used 33.8 of "H". I did have a little room in the case neck that I didn't have to worry about compression. I do have a 18" drop tube, but did not have to use it.
With the IMR being a bulkier powder Should I try to use the drop tube and see if I can get 33.8? or, dont concern myself too much with being exact and just go with something like 32 gr.? Is there a magic fps I should shoot for? I can measure that, but, I unfortunately can't measure pressure.

Lets clarify here...the 168 will not be stable in a 17 or 18 twist barrel and neither 4198 is suitable for that bullet at the charges you mention in your post. Again, just to clarify that.

As for how much imr 4198 you can get in there, with or without a long drop tube..just try it and see. It's been ages since I even attempted imr in one but things were different then than now. Most people are in the 2975-3075 fps range but using H4198 or n130. Which btw, has been available, less expensive than many options and it's proven to work.

I did the QL with 165 gr Hornady SP (hunting bullet without boat-tail because it's shorter). But it will not stabilize in a 17" or 18" twist.
======================================

For 18" twist the cheapest fireforming with BENCHMARK might be with something like the 125 gr Hornady FMJ ( 30196 )... or the 135 Sierra Varminter ( #2124 ) ... assuming you can jam them in the lands hard.

35 to 36 gr of Benchmark for both should work.

Or 125 gr Sierra SP ( # 2120 ) with 36 to 37 gr of BM.
=======================================

You could also use IMR-4198 to fireform those same bullets
32 gr of IMR-4198 for the 125 gr bullets and 31 gr for the 135 gr bullet.

Just throwing some ideas out there to save you some $$$ by not using the more expensive 112 gr bullets.
