gunsmith

Dennis Olson in Plains, MT is a premie Ruger gunsmith. Specializes in Rugers. Renowned for his fine craftsmanship.

Mark Penrod does a lot of No.1 upgrades. Check out his site. I had him do a very difficult job on a Remington 40X rimfire receiver and the workmanship was OUTSTANDING. He came recommended from another highly touted gunsmith to do this tough machining job.

Search on Penrod Precision iirc.

I have a paddle stocked stainless M77 in .223. I haven't been able to get it to shoot as accurately as I would like. I just found out that I've been using bullets that are too heavy for my 1:12 twist barrel. I've been tole that I'm going to have to scrap the 55gr bullets and try 52gr and 53gr weights. I've had remarks made about the paddle stocked rifles having difficulty with accuracy, and I'm not sure I understand that.
Is there a gunsmith who is a wizard with the M77 that can get this rifle to shoot 1/2 to 1/4 MOA without having to rebarrel it~? A new barrel is beyond what I'm willing to spend on this rifle~!!
Thanks for all who reply.

Your kidding I hope.

This post reminds me of arguments with my old buddy Ronnie Burke. It is funny, I cant read ruger or see one without him coming to mind. One cannot imagine a more die hard Ruger fan. RIP "Ronnie Ruger"
The best way to get a Ruger to shoot is swap it for a Remington, or a Savage, or a Winchester, or a -----.
You dont stutter. lol
