Gunbroker Bidding -- No More Mobile App

Mark M.

Silver $$ Contributor
Anybody experiencing bidding problems on gunbroker, I've used GB for many years buying and selling, today I wanted to place a bid on an item and won't except my bid or a buy it now, try to fine out why is like finding a needle in the haystack, if anyone has any ideas or suggestions I would greatly appreciate it, thanks.

Forum Boss:

The issue is that Gunbroker's Mobile App is no longer supported by Android (Google) or Apple. Basically big tech censorship.

Explanation HERE: https://support.gunbroker.com/hc/en-us/articles/225068787-Mobile-Apps-Mobile-Site-Use

Cell phone users can still access gunbroker site and bid, but they must do it through the regular browser software.

Notice: "Last Updated 4/27/2020

Bid and Buy functionality for the [Gunbroker] mobile app has been disabled. All bids and purchases must be done on the responsive website. If you try to bid or buy you will see this message: "You do not have permission to use this operation." This permission has been taken away from everyone and cannot be restored.

Due to policy changes within their companies, Apple and Google have chosen to not support our apps at this time."

There is a banner on gunbroker not letting mobile app users bid. Are you on a desktop? Look at the top of the screen shot

Here is the story from Today's Daily Bulletin, including comments from Google and Apple:

Why Apple Removed Gunbroker iOS App
Apple has modified its “Objectionable Content” policy. New Item 1.3 now specifically targets gun sales:

1.1 Objectionable Content:
Apps should not include content that is offensive, insensitive, upsetting, intended to disgust, or in exceptionally poor taste. Examples of such content include:

1.3 Depictions that encourage illegal or reckless use of weapons and dangerous objects, or facilitate the purchase of firearms.

1.3 Depictions that encourage illegal or reckless use of weapons and dangerous objects,

Well, by this standard, the gaming industry is coming down. Oh wait... no, that would discriminate against liberals living in their mom's basements.

The AmmoSeek app will be on their hit list soon I’m sure, since they list those deplorable g.u_n.s

The first and second amendments are both being attacked.

OK guys n ladies, I need help, a translation as my computer dinosaur scales are showing.
I use my phone or tablet to access sites, seldom my home puter. If I wanted to sign up to bid or sell on GB, what do I do?
Do NOT be bashful about breaking it down to chalk simple steps. No offense will be taken as I am wanting to sell some primed brass. Many thanks, Tom

TA, download Mozilla Firefox browser to your phone, use it to access most everything on the web through your phone. stay away from the Google Chrome browser for obvious reasons and don't use Google search a much better one that doesn't trace your steps or record what you seacrhed for is Duck Duck Go Search Engine.

I was suspended on my GB account for not paying sellers. when i asked which seller(s) I received no answer. I actually did find one that a bought a lot of parts from. The item I had in hand for months, they just didn't cancel the non-paying bidder complaint.
Their help moderation is non-human so you can never receive an answer. My solution was to start a new account.

Anouther option is to use the Startpage search (startpage.com). They also have a paid Email option if you would like a private Email account (Startmail.com).
