,gunamonth)Dasher w/ .104 FB ?

"I got my 6 Dasher reamer from Kiff,PT&G). It has 0.104" freebore for the 105-107 bullets I believe. I can check it if you're interested." gunamonth

Gunamonth,
how well is the .104FB working w/ the 105s to 107s? I talked to Kiff yesterday and that was the freebore he recommended for the 105 VLDs. He said that a new record was set w/ it but I can't find anything on the record+.104FB.
How far above the neck/should junction does the .104 put the Berger 105VLD?

I don't know about the Dasher, but I do know of some records shot with a 6BRX with .104 freebore and 105VLDs. Reamer was made by Kiff also. Maybe that was what he had in mind. It's a close comparison.

That sound good, I can wait. I am just wondering where the .104 will put the VLD bearing surface. The new record was Bob Hoppe at the 07 NBRSA 600 Nationals. The radius of .060" is the same on my reamer print. It is also on Original Dowling/Asher .060 FB and five other 6mm Dasher prints I have. the three 6BR prints are .075".

With .104 freebore the 105 VLD's sit about .200 into the case, which is about 3/4ths down the neck.
I laid a bullet next to a loaded round and came up with about .185, but I'm HARD into the lands.
The base of the bullet is just barely past the body/shoulder juncture.
Measurements aren't real exact, but will get you close enough.
Don't try and re-invent the wheel.

Al.
